“Referendum” is another word for “vote”!
VOTE ON MARCH 12th, 2024...
The March 12 bond referendum balances the district’s fiscal responsibility to the community with the need to provide our students a modern, healthy and safe educational environment. The short video below provides an inside look at the proposal to generate the upfront funding needed to build a new middle school and the steps taken to reach this point.
Little Ferry’s Board of Education and district leaders take great pride in the educational partnership they share with the community. Together, we carry out the mission of delivering an exceptional educational program to more than 800 students each year.
The Board of Education is looking toward the future of Little Ferry Public Schools, while continuing its fiscal responsibility to the Little Ferry taxpayers. Those are the driving forces behind a bond referendum to fund the construction of a new middle school.
A new middle school would be constructed on the site of the Washington School, which has been closed since 2018. Students who were displaced from Washington School are currently learning in trailers – and need their own school. Elementary students would move into Memorial School when construction of the new middle school is complete.
Washington School’s WWI Memorial Plaque has been carefully relocated to its new home in front of Memorial School and is now on display for Memorial Day! We want to thank all the people who were involved in this move: Mayor Raguseo and the Borough of Little Ferry Council, Officer Hinchcliffe of the Little Ferry Police Department, American Legion Post 310, Veterans of Foreign War Post 809, and the families of service members listed on the memorial, who offered valuable input on the relocation.
We are collecting photos, memories and memorabilia now! Submit your scanned photos to LittleFerryFuture@lfboe.org or drop them off at Memorial Middle School, 130 Liberty Street (go to Main Door 1).
